Male Body Contouring Fri, Oct 16 8:00-9:30 a.m. CDT

This session provides a comprehensive overview of the unique considerations and surgical approaches in male body contouring. Faculty will examine masculine aesthetic ideals and the application of techniques such as high-definition liposculpture, abdominal etching, chest wall contouring, and gynecomastia correction. Discussion will also address patient selection, including psychological considerations and screening for body dysmorphic disorder, as well as strategies for aligning surgical plans with patient expectations. Emphasis will be placed on achieving gender-congruent aesthetic outcomes while maintaining safety and optimizing results in this growing patient population.

Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Analyze masculine aesthetic ideals and their application to surgical planning in male body contouring.

  2. Evaluate advanced techniques, including high-definition liposculpture and chest contouring, for desired outcomes.

  3. Assess patient selection criteria, including psychological considerations.

  4. Apply evidence-informed approaches to gynecomastia management and male chest wall contouring.

  5. Integrate strategies to manage patient expectations and optimize safety and outcomes in male body contouring procedures.
