From Constricted to Curvy: A Modern Take on Tuberous Breast Solutions Fri, Oct 10 5:00-6:00 p.m. CDT

Tuberous breast deformity presents a challenging spectrum of anatomical variants that require individualized surgical planning. This session will define the clinical features and classification of tuberous breast deformity to facilitate effective preoperative assessment and treatment stratification. Participants will compare surgical modalities—including primary augmentation, augmentation-mastopexy, and autologous fat grafting—for correcting lower pole constriction, glandular herniation, and asymmetry. Faculty will demonstrate surgical techniques such as parenchymal scoring, lower pole expansion, and areolar reshaping, and discuss strategies for simultaneous volume restoration. Complications unique to this condition and approaches to both intraoperative troubleshooting and long-term aesthetic maintenance will also be addressed.

Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Define the clinical characteristics and severity classification of tuberous breast deformity to guide individualized surgical planning.
  2. Compare the applications and outcomes of primary augmentation, augmentation-mastopexy, and autologous fat grafting in correcting tuberous breast features.
  3. Develop a surgical algorithm for addressing lower pole constriction, glandular herniation, and asymmetry using implants, soft tissue techniques, and fat grafting.
  4. Demonstrate key surgical maneuvers such as parenchymal scoring, lower pole expansion, areolar reshaping, and volume enhancement to achieve natural outcomes.
  5. Recognize common complications specific to tuberous breast correction and formulate strategies for intraoperative problem-solving and postoperative management.
