Body Contouring with Non-Breast Implants Thu, Oct 15 5:00-6:00 p.m. CDT

This session provides plastic surgeons with a focused review of body contouring using implants across multiple anatomical regions. Faculty will address key considerations in patient selection, implant sizing, and pocket plane selection, including subfascial and submuscular approaches for the pectorals, gluteal region, calves, biceps, and triceps. Additional emphasis will be placed on incision planning for optimal scar concealment and strategies to mitigate complications such as implant malposition, seroma, and capsular contracture. Case-based discussions and surgical video will reinforce operative techniques and postoperative management to support safe and effective integration of anatomic implants into clinical practice.

Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Evaluate patient selection criteria for body contouring procedures utilizing non-breast implants across various anatomical regions.

  2. Analyze implant sizing and pocket plane options to optimize aesthetic outcomes and procedural safety.

  3. Apply surgical planning strategies, including incision placement and pocket selection, to enhance results and minimize visible scarring.

  4. Identify common complications associated with anatomic implants and implement strategies to mitigate associated risks.

  5. Integrate operative and postoperative management principles into practice to support successful outcomes with non-breast implants.
