Management of Facelift Complications Sunday, October 18 Sun, Oct 18 8:00-9:30 a.m. CDT
Although facelift surgery is highly effective for facial rejuvenation, complications can occur and require prompt recognition and appropriate management. This panel will review common early and late complications following facelift surgery including hematoma, skin flap compromise, nerve injury, contour irregularities, and unfavorable scarring, and discuss practical strategies for prevention and treatment. Emphasis will be placed on clinical decision-making, timing of intervention, and techniques to optimize patient outcomes when complications arise.
Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:
Identify common early and late complications associated with facelift surgery.
Recognize clinical signs that require urgent intervention, including hematoma and skin flap compromise.
Evaluate surgical and nonsurgical strategies for managing complications such as nerve injury, contour irregularities, and scarring.
Apply preventive techniques and perioperative strategies to reduce the risk of complications in facelift surgery.
