Complications of Injectables Thursday, October 15 Thu, Oct 15 5:00-6:00 p.m. CDT
This panel will provide a focused and practical review of complications associated with aesthetic injectables, including neuromodulators and dermal fillers. Emphasis is placed on early recognition, prevention strategies, and evidence-based management of adverse events such as vascular occlusion, skin necrosis, visual compromise, infection, nodules, and eyelid ptosis. Participants will develop structured protocols to enhance patient safety and confidently manage both common and high-risk complications.
Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:
Identify early clinical signs of vascular compromise and other injectable-related complications.
Differentiate complications related to neuromodulators versus dermal fillers.
Implement immediate management protocols, including the use of hyaluronidase when indicated.
Develop prevention strategies based on anatomical knowledge, injection technique, and product selection.
