Building a High Performance Team Sat, Oct 17 2:00-3:30 p.m. CDT

Well-trained staff are the backbone of an efficient, patient-centered plastic surgery practice, yet many surgeons receive little formal training in how to develop their teams. This session outlines a structured approach to onboarding, training, and ongoing staff development that promotes consistency, accountability, and excellence across clinical and administrative roles. Attendees will learn how to create clear expectations, implement repeatable training systems, and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement that supports both patient experience and practice growth.

Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the essential components of a structured onboarding and staff development program that promotes consistency, accountability, and high-quality performance across clinical and administrative roles.

  2. Develop a repeatable training framework that establishes clear role expectations, standardizes workflows, and supports ongoing competency assessment for practice staff.

  3. Implement strategies to foster a culture of continuous learning and performance improvement that enhances the patient experience, strengthens team engagement, and supports sustainable practice growth.
