Carpal Fractures and Wrist Dislocations: Making it Less Scary Thu, Oct 15 3:30-4:30 p.m. CDT

Carpal fractures and wrist dislocations can be intimidating due to complex anatomy and risk of missed injury. This session simplifies diagnosis and management through a structured, pattern-based approach. Faculty will review imaging strategies, injury recognition, and treatment algorithms.

The goal is to increase surgeon confidence and reduce missed or delayed diagnosis.

Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify common and high-risk carpal fractures and wrist dislocations.

  2. Apply systematic evaluation techniques to wrist trauma imaging.

  3. Select appropriate operative and nonoperative management strategies.

  4. Recognize complications associated with delayed or missed injuries.
