Panelists will discuss the current effects of GLP1 medications on breast surgery.

Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Review the mechanisms and systemic effects of GLP-1 medications relevant to surgical patients.

  2. Evaluate the potential impact of GLP-1 therapy on wound healing, tissue integrity, and complication risk in breast reconstruction.

  3. Discuss perioperative management strategies for patients taking GLP-1 medications undergoing breast surgery.

  4. Integrate current evidence and expert recommendations to optimize surgical planning and patient outcomes in the context of GLP-1 therapy.
