Panelists will discuss the effects of various medications which are important to take into consideration prior to or after breast reconstruction surgery due to possible complications.

Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify medications that may impact wound healing, infection risk, and overall outcomes in breast reconstruction surgery.

  2. Evaluate the timing and management of common perioperative medications to minimize complications.

  3. Discuss evidence-based strategies for adjusting or coordinating medications before and after breast reconstruction.

  4. Integrate medication-related risk assessment into surgical planning to optimize patient safety and reconstructive success.
