Enhanced Reimbursements: From Hope to Reality Thu, Oct 9 1:30-3:00 p.m. CDT

Navigating insurance reimbursement has become increasingly complex, but also presents new pathways for maximizing value. In this practical, strategy-focused session, surgeons, office staff, and billing professionals will learn how to take control of their payer mix and negotiate higher reimbursement rates. Faculty will guide participants through how to evaluate which insurance carriers to contract with and when remaining out-of-network can lead to stronger financial outcomes.

Participants will also gain a working understanding of the No Surprises Act (NSA), including how to leverage its provisions to support patient care and secure fair payment. The session will explore how to file successful claims through the NSA’s Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) process and provide tips to strengthen insurer negotiations. Whether you are clinical, administrative, or financial staff, this session will equip you with the tools and knowledge to enhance reimbursement ethically and effectively.

Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Analyze criteria for determining which insurance carriers to contract with and which to remain out-of-network.
  2. Apply negotiation techniques to pursue enhanced reimbursement rates with insurance payers.
  3. Execute the steps required to file claims through the No Surprises Act’s Independent Dispute Resolution process.
