Beyond the Basics: Complex Strategies in Aesthetic Body Shaping Sat, Oct 11 8:00-9:30 a.m. CDT

Body contouring remains one of the most in-demand areas of aesthetic surgery, particularly as rates of weight fluctuation and obesity continue to rise. While full abdominoplasty techniques often dominate surgical discourse, many patients present with moderate concerns and may not require—or desire—extensive procedures. This session will examine the evolving spectrum of body contouring approaches, from traditional excisional surgery to minimally invasive and hybrid techniques. Faculty will address how to tailor interventions to patient anatomy, expectations, and recovery goals, promoting a more personalized and ethical approach to aesthetic body surgery.

Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Differentiate between full, limited, and minimally invasive body contouring techniques based on patient anatomy and clinical indications.
  2. Assess patient preferences, goals, and risk profiles to guide shared decision-making in selecting appropriate contouring procedures.
  3. Apply individualized treatment strategies that incorporate a range of surgical and non-surgical modalities to optimize outcomes across diverse body types.
