Expanding the Scope: Integrating Weight Loss Services into Your Practice Fri, Oct 10 5:00-6:00 p.m. CDT

With the rising popularity and clinical impact of GLP-1 receptor agonists and other emerging weight loss medications, plastic surgeons and their practice teams are uniquely positioned to support patients in achieving health goals that may precede or complement body contouring surgery. This session will explore how these medications can be safely and effectively integrated into aesthetic practices, enhancing patient engagement and expanding service offerings. Attendees will examine patient selection criteria, medication mechanisms and side effects, and operational considerations for incorporating medical weight management into surgical workflows.

Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:

Describe the mechanism of action, indications, and common side effects of GLP-1 receptor agonists used for weight loss.

Evaluate the clinical and strategic opportunities for integrating weight loss pharmacotherapy into aesthetic plastic surgery practices.

Analyze potential financial and operational benefits associated with offering weight loss management services to existing and prospective patients.
