Oh, the Things You Will See in the ER Saturday, October 11 Sat, Oct 11 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. CDT
This session will prepare surgeons for the diverse and sometimes unexpected presentations encountered during emergency hand call. Faculty will share insights on managing a wide range of injuries, from simple lacerations to complex crush and avulsion injuries. Emphasis will be placed on triage, initial management, and optimizing hand function through timely intervention.
Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:
- Recognize the spectrum of acute hand injuries commonly encountered in the emergency setting.
- Prioritize initial assessment and management strategies for various hand emergencies.
- Apply appropriate surgical and nonsurgical interventions to preserve function and minimize complications.
