This engaging session demystifies dental implant placement for surgeons familiar with fracture plating, emphasizing the shared technical principles between the two procedures. Through comparative analysis and step-by-step instruction, participants will recognize how existing surgical skills can be directly applied to dental implantology. The session will cover fundamental techniques for implant placement, including site preparation, angulation, and osseointegration principles. In addition, faculty will review clinical indications, patient selection criteria, and case-based examples to illustrate when and how implant placement is most effectively integrated into surgical practice.
Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:
- Understand the technical similarities between fracture platings and dental implant placement
- Describe techniques for dental implant placement
- Discuss indications for dental implant placement
