Utilization of NPs and PAs Throughout the Scope of Plastic Surgery Sun, Sep 29 8:00-9:30 a.m. PDT

Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) have grown in recent years. Now more than ever, APPs have more of a presence and role in surgical subspecialties. As the number of APPs working in plastic surgery has grown, their roles have evolved, and there is a knowledge deficit when it comes to how APPs can be utilized at the top of their scope to maximize efficiency throughout the breadth of plastic surgery.

At the end of this activity participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss how advanced practice providers can be utilized throughout the entire scope of plastic surgery.
  2. Identify how fully utilizing APPs throughout plastic surgery will allow both APPs and surgeons to maximize efficiency in their practice.
  3. Discuss challenges associated with APP utilization in a surgical subspecialty.
