Trying the Other Side: Private Practice Doing Reconstruction, Academic Practice Doing Aesthetics Fri, Sep 27 2:00-3:30 p.m. PDT

This session will include a panel discussion on the pros and cons for incorporating reconstructive surgery, whether breast/facial/Mohs/hand, into a private aesthetic practice model. Tips on determining the keys to implementing a successful aesthetics practice in academics and a discussion of financing of these ventures will be covered.

Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Recognize the processes needed to incorporate reconstructive surgery into a private aesthetic practice model.
  2. Determine pros/cons of performing insurance-based procedures in an aesthetic practice or vice versa.
  3. Understand the pitfalls of each model.
