All Things WALANT: Tendons, Fractures, Nerves, and More! Sun, Oct 29 8:00-9:30 a.m. CDT

Surgery performed with Wide Awake Local Anesthesia No Tourniquet has gained significant popularity over the past decade, with myriad increasing indications. This session will discuss surgery that can be performed using WALANT and describe incorporation of this technique into one's practice.

At the end of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss indications for WALANT surgery and how to discuss this technique with patients.
  2. Learn how to incorporate use of WALANT into one's hand surgery practice.
  3. Discuss pearls for technical execution of WALANT for tendon repairs and tendon transfers, nerve surgery, and bony fixation.
  4. Describe outcomes following WALANT surgery.
