Underserved Plastic Surgery Panel Mon, Nov 1 1:30-3:00 p.m. EDT

The course/panel will focus on underserved plastic surgery communities with the goals of educating the audience on opportunities, challenges, and professional fulfillment. Course faculty/panelists will provide information on:

Types of communities: rural, urban, and suburban. Scope of the problem and how we can address it. Perspectives of hospital administration. Experiences of plastic surgeons thriving in two such communities.

At the end of this activity participants will be able to:

  1. Knowledge of the issues associated with underserved communities
  2. What type of communities are affected?
  3. How to establish and maintain a practice in such settings
  4. Appreciation of the potential for fulfilling and rewarding career, both professionally and financially.
