Mandible Fracture Treatment: From Good to Great Outcomes Saturday, September 29 Sat, Sep 29 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Step-by-step discussion of the treatment of mandibular fractures; simple to complex, occlusion, approaches, soft tissue management, load sharing techniques, load bearing techniques, and avoiding and handling of complications. This will include the handling of symphyseal, parasymphyseal, body, angle, ramus, subcondylar and condylar fractures. Discussion will include comminuted, atrophic, infected and defect fractures of the mandible.
At the end of the activity, participants will be able to: 1. Access and establish occlusion 2. Discuss the principles of load sharing and load bearing 3. Identify options for the use of mini plates versus large reconstruction plates 4. Outline multiple options for the management of symphyseal fractures 5. Discuss the management and options for treatment of subcondylar fractures
