Mandibular Trauma and Reconstruction: Science versus Myth Fri, Sep 20 8:00-9:00 a.m.

The course will contain descriptions of pre-operative workup/etiology/pathophysiology of mandible fractures, treatment options including reduction and plating techniques, and avoidance of complications. Dr. Schubert will provide case examples, pearls, and lessons learned from his vast experience treating mandible fractures.

At the end of this activity participants will be able to:

  1. The learner will identify pre-operative work-up for patients with mandibular fractures;
  2. The learner will outline treatment options for different types of mandible fractures;
  3. The learner will list pros and cons for different treatment options for mandible fractures;
  4. The leaner will discuss how to properly manage mandible fractures and steps to avoid complications.
