PSTM Simulation Lab: Ultrasound 1 Sunday, September 22 Sun, Sep 22 8:00-10:00 a.m.
The Ultrasound Sim Lab is included in your PSTM registration and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Ultrasound is an evolving evaluation and management tool within medicine that assists surgeons in a patient friendly, non-invasive, and safe manner. There is very little understanding of this application among plastic surgeons. Ultrasound offers many ways to improve patient care that are not being performed at this time.
The main stage will have a running slide show of case studies, identification of different implants and of issues with implants. There will be a high-resolution ultrasound (HURS) demonstration. 4 stations will have a leader showing implants, seromas, blocks, and normal breast and buttock anatomy.
At the end of this activity participants will be able to: 1. Identify appropriate uses for ultrasonography in plastic surgery; 2. Acquire real-time ultrasound images and video; 3. Translate ultrasound finds into actionable patient care.
Program Subject to Change.
