Wide Awake Anesthesia in Facial Aesthetics Sat, Sep 21 1:30-3:00 p.m.

While initially described for hand surgery, wide awake anesthesia is gaining in popularity for a wide variety of cosmetic procedures including facelifting, blepharoplasty, skin resurfacing, perioral and isolated neck procedures. The panelists will detail their patient selection, techniques, indications and contraindications. Tips and traps will be outlined, and the benefits of the techniques discussed.

At the end of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe anesthesia techniques to minimize pain.
  2. Describe the limitations of this technique.
  3. Describe contraindications.
