Understanding How Techniques and Technologies Learned in Burns Translates to Plastic Surgery Friday, September 28 Fri, Sep 28 1:30-4:00 p.m.
This program will examine new technologies including debridement agents and devices, wound care methods, laser and skin substitutes. Leading experts in the field will explain how these have been developed in burn care but can be utilized in other areas in plastic surgery. We have selected international leaders in the burn community that are plastic surgeons who have been on the cutting edge of developing these new technologies and in translating them to other areas of plastic surgery.
At the end of this activity participants will be able to:
- Understand technological advances in burn care.
- Identify the challenges of transferring technology to plastic surgery.
- Discuss laser, skin substitutes and debridement procedures.
- Learn how to assess results.
- Discuss patient safety issues involved with new technologies.
