This brand new cadaver experience will cover the following topics:
Flaps to the hand (intrinsic, loco-regional, fingertip) including:
- Groin flap (back up flap)
- Arm: Lateral arm
- Forearm: (RFF, PIA, Becker, UAF)
- Hand intrinsic flaps (Quaba, FDMA, Homodigital, cross finger, VY, Neurovascular island flap)
Vascularized bone flaps: 1-2 ICSR), femoral condyle
Wrist anatomy and surgery (PRC, four corner, scaphoid, Thumb CMC arthroplasty)
Botox and hand ischemia
AO Principles of fracture fixation including Metacarpal, Phalanx, Thumb, (articular and extra-articular fractures)
Important nerve transfers, decompression and exposure to major peripheral nerves including:
- Carpal tunnel
- Cubital tunnel
- Guyon’s canal
- Radial tunnel
Zone 2 flexor tendon repair
Extensor tendon repair all zones including:
- Swan Neck, Boutonniere, Mallet
- Common tendon transfers
Compartment syndrome release
Local analgesia and wide awake surgery infiltration technique
Splinting safe position
Cosmetic hand surgery: Fat grafting
