ASPS/PSF/ASMS are pleased to present three special lectures designed to educate and inspire.

The PSF Maliniac Lecture: From Augmentation/Reconstruction to Regeneration/Revitalization for Natural and Healthy Outcomes

Monday, September 26, 2016

9:00 – 9:30 p.m.

Lecturer: Kotaro Yoshimura, MD

We can learn much from careful clinical observations such as successful or unsuccessful remodeling after trauma. Through combination with laboratory work elucidating the underlying cellular mechanism, we can reach to therapeutic innovations such as tissue regeneration and revitalization and get results with natural beauty and healthy function.

Kotaro Yoshimura, MD is a professor and chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Jichi Medical University, Japan. He received his medical degree and doctorate from the University of Tokyo. After returning from research work at the University of Michigan, he worked for the University of Tokyo and directed his laboratory. His research interests cover a broad spectrum of plastic surgery. He has published more than 150 full articles in peer-reviewed journals, including more than 30 original articles in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is a member of ASPS, AAPS, ASAPS, and other international societies in this field. Prof. Yoshimura is currently Asian Liaison of Plastic Surgery Research Council (PSRC) and Vice President of International Society of Plastic and Regenerative Surgeons (ISPRES).
